The Apple Tree of My Life

The giant apple tree in the back garden stands proudly laden with snow,
the first dusting of fall.
It is like a miracle.
It is not that I have not seen her before.
In fact I greet her every day;
For I have seen her beauty,
her poise,
her charm,
and her grace.
But for today it is different;
For today I see that in her strength,
her living,
her suffering,
and her surrender to change.
In her season opening, she is truly magnificent.
